British and Irish Lions win opening Test

against Rugby’s World Champions, South Africa

in Cape Town on Saturday, 24th July, 2021.

South Africa 17-22 British and Irish Lions.

Tries by de Klerk for South Africa

and  Cowan-Dickie for the British and Irish Lions.

Biggar converted Cowan-Dickie’s try.

Pollard scored four penalties for the Springboks.

Biggar also scored four penalties for the Lions,

with Farrell scoring the deciding penalty for the Lions.

The tourists superior physical conditioning

was the key to this brilliant victory.
